2018 AGM

Friday 8th June

A huge thank you to all those of you (over 50, including a few non-members who have now become members) who attended the Society’s AGM held on Friday 8th June at the Memorial Hall.

Our speaker this year was Nicky McLeod, Chief Operations Officer, Cygnet Healthcare, who talked about the new hospital on the Bearsted Road close to Junction 7 of the M20, opening in September, which will provide specialist mental health facilities. Nicky was accompanied by Simba Kaseke, Clinical Manager of the hospital. A lively question and answer session followed.

The formal business of the AGM followed, chaired by Caroline Vanhecke.

We were sorry to say goodbye to Roger Vidler, a lynchpin of the Society for many years, and more recently of the Co-ordinating Team. Roger has held a variety of key positions on the committee, as joint chairman, vice-chairman and treasurer.

Angela Legood also stepped down as the committee member responsible for Road Steward Co-ordination but has assured us she will assist with future deliveries.

The remainder of the committee were happy to stand again and were all re-elected as follows:-

Chairman - Caroline Vanhecke
Treasurer - Ian Adamson
Secretary - Mary Richards
Membership Secretary - Sandra Knatchbull
General members - Carolyn Christie - Robert Gee

We are delighted to welcome Malcolm Kersey, recently retired traffic control systems’ consultant, to the committee.
