Local Road Closures and Roadworks

We have been informed of the following temporary road closures and roadworks:-

1.
Church Lane – temporary road closure

Church Lane will be closed between the Street and the Green, outside the Oak on the Green, on or after 28th October 2019 for up to two days.

The closure is necessary to enable Kent County Council to carry out urgent pothole blitz repair works.

2.

Thurnham Lane – temporary road closure

Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on Thurnham Lane on 4th November for up to 1 night between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00.

The road will be closed at the rail bridge, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Pilgrims Way, Hockers Lane, Ware Street, Thurnham Lane and vice versa.

Access for emergency service vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while bridge examination works are undertaken by Network Rail.

3.

Thurnham Lane – temporary road closure

Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on Thurnham Lane on 25th November for up to 5 days.
The road will be closed between Fancy Row and Claymore, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Ware Street, Hockers Lane, The Street, Pilgrims Way, Thurnham Lane and vice versa.

Access for emergency service vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while cabling works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

4.

Maidstone Town Centre – temporary road closure

From 27th November the A229 Bishops Way, Palace Avenue and Lower Stone Street, Maidstone will be closed between the junctions with High Street and A249 Mote Road for resurfacing works.

The closure will be in force between 21:00 and 05:00 and work is scheduled for completion by 6th December.
