| How the Society works |
It is a voluntary, non-political organisation with a written Constitution formally adopted at a special general meeting of Members, copies of which are available to all Members on request.
Its Annual General Meeting, held in the spring, elects the Chairman and other officers of the Society, and the members of its Committee.
The Committee meets at least quarterly, usually more often, to conduct the business of the Society, and reports to Members on the work of the Society both in a thrice-yearly Newsletter and in an Annual Report presented at the AGM.
The current membership is about 1,250 and is spread over all parts of Bearsted and Thurnham.
The Society welcomes the support of Members who can offer expert advice and help. If you would like to support the work of the Society, please contact the Chairman.
